Butterfly Card, Summer Card Project 4

One of the butterfly stamps from our Butterflies Rubber Stamp Set (SKU 5x702001) makes a perfect centerpiece to this A2 landscape card.   The embossed paper was made using folder by Lifestyle Crafts, 'Whimsy' (from Michaels).  And the paper is also from Michaels' new Recollections Cardstock Spiral pad.  Inside the card, I stamped Japanese Waves Rubber Stamp (SKU 4x600042) onto white paper to create a border for the note writing section.  Because of the embossed design, the waves match the front of the card nicely! The butterfly design, was stamped with Memento Dew Drop London Fog (grey) ink and filled in with a Copic No.2 Neutral Gray marker as the base.  For the wing colors, I used yellow glitter marker Marvy Uchida, R20 Blush Copic marker, and a black watercolor pencil to create the center shadow lines of the wings.  It's hard to narrow down the options for coloring in butterfly wings.  The possibilities are endless!

Thinking of...the Beach, Summer Project 3

Our stamp, Thinking of You features a girl dressed in a Victorian bathing suit, sitting in the sand looking out into the ocean.  I embossed just the girl in (my recent!) favorite copper colored powder, cut around her and placed it onto a copper colored square mat.  (This stamp includes a text stamp, too, but I cut the rubber apart and will use the text stamp for another project.)  The Seashell Collection Rubber Stamp is stamped in black ink onto a powder blue paper.   Wavy shaped scissors were used on the top and bottom edge of the paper. Inside the card mat, I stamped one of the seashells from the collection by just masking the rubber with blue painter's tape  (I did not cut out the stamps on this set because I think they look great together).  I stamped just the large seashell that's in the bottom right corner.  I hope this project adds happy, beach thoughts to your day!

Honey Bee Tag, Summer Project II

All of this month, I'm featuring summer-themed projects with our rubber stamps.  There are so many to pick from, I had a hard time narrowing it down to a few!  For this project, I started with Ranger manila colored tag, no. 8 size (6 1/4" x 3 1/8").  I embossed our Honey Comb Background Rubber Stamp onto cream colored paper with a copper embossing powder.  The stamp is quite large and measures 4" x 6."  The brown band along the bottom allowed for yellow and white bakery twine and some extra embellishments.  The flowers in the corner are from Petaloo.  An extra bee is stamped on craft paper, cut out and added Glossy Accents (Inkssentials/Ranger). The embossed honey comb came out so cool, it looks like metal up close (see above). The moth cutouts near the top of the tag are from our Dragonflies and Friends Rubber Stamp Collection stamped with black StazOn ink onto craft colored paper and some added gold glitter glue in the centers.  The center of the t

Summer Card Project I

This is the first project for my new series, Stamps of Summer.  It was fun getting to use some of my copic markers. Our new  Natalie with Bicycle Rubber Stamp comes with a bonus lamp post stamp.  You can cut it apart or use it together like I did. The card size is a square 5 1/2"x 5 1/2" Happy Summer Stamping everyone!
