White Gel Pen for Christmas (in July)

We have a couple different angel stamps in our Christmas collection of stamps.  The above project features Angel with Flute and Angels Sing Rubber Stamp.  The color of the paper is a light purple which allowed for the use of a white gel pen and light blue marker to color in the wings and robes.  More gel markers were used to color in the flowing ribbons.  The contrast color of the background is gold to match the gold flute that the angel is playing.

The card size is an A2, in pearl white.  I added a punched lace design along the bottom and a stamp from the Holiday Grunge Seal Rubber Stamp Set.

The Santa Portrait Rubber Stamp was another excuse to use a white gel pen!  He was stamped on a lime green colored paper and vintage sepia ink was daubed around the edges.  Tis the Season Tickets are the 2 tickets along the side stamped on a beige paper and also daubed with vintage sepia ink.

Why I love creating these projects?
I love how gel pens work so well on dark colored papers to block out the color and make the stamped design stand out.  I purchased a pack of gel pens that include green, blue, red, pink, and purple.  I also (separately) bought a 3-pack of white gel pens and am using them so much that I will be buying more soon!

New Coloring Booklet Casual Chic

We have a new digital download available: It is the  Casual Chic - Modern Fashion Plates Coloring Booklet   featuring 12 girls dressed in cute outfits along with accessories such as eyewear, hats, purses, and some even have a dog with them.  All of the girls measure over 6 inches in height and print onto 3 pages (landscape). The outfits are fun and unique. You will always be challenged to use various colors while practicing your shading and blending techniques. I had such a blast creating the examples for this project.   Tip: If you have not already, this is a good way to get to know what markers you have. There is a color swatch area to label and try out colors before committing onto a character, which is especially helpful for skin and hair. In my case, I got to know which skin tone markers I had. Between 2 sets of brush tip markers, I was able to create a variety of skin colors so that each girl did not look identical to the next. The best part is that you do...
