Snowflakes and Christmas Tree Card

We're sharing a new crafting discovery in this project: the secret to stamping on black paper.....paint the paper with black acrylic paint.  It dries fast and is ready to apply stamps in just a few seconds.  You can, of course, paint any color paper black, but I used black paper and chalk stamping ink for this project.
This card measures 5.5" x 5.5" (13,9 cm x 13,9 cm).

Our Seasons Greetings Tree Rubber Stamp measures, 2.2" x 3.1" (5,5 cm x 7,8 cm)  and was stamped on a pearl cardstock in a bright blue ink.  The Snowflake Background Rubber Stamp was stamped onto the pearl paper in 2 shades of blue, chalk ink around the Christmas Tree.  This stamp measure 2" x 3" (5 cm x 7,6 cm) and can be stamped in all different directions to create a background pattern.

The 2 shades of blue chalk stamping ink stand out so much on black paper when you brush black acrylic paint onto the surface first.  The matte finish of the paint shows the blue stamped images better than stamping on plain black paper.  It also gives the ink a slight raised appearance, bonus!

The middle of the card features some wintery-white vintage lace and a star sticker and snowflake sticker is added in 2 places on the card.  Tear the blue paper in the corners and reveal its white core.  The black layer is page curled using the end of a paint brush handle.  White school glue is brushed onto the corners and then glitter is applied using the same paint brush from the glue.  I love blue for Christmas decor, so we're going to have a fun, blue Christmas this year and hope you do, too!

New Coloring Booklet Casual Chic

We have a new digital download available: It is the  Casual Chic - Modern Fashion Plates Coloring Booklet   featuring 12 girls dressed in cute outfits along with accessories such as eyewear, hats, purses, and some even have a dog with them.  All of the girls measure over 6 inches in height and print onto 3 pages (landscape). The outfits are fun and unique. You will always be challenged to use various colors while practicing your shading and blending techniques. I had such a blast creating the examples for this project.   Tip: If you have not already, this is a good way to get to know what markers you have. There is a color swatch area to label and try out colors before committing onto a character, which is especially helpful for skin and hair. In my case, I got to know which skin tone markers I had. Between 2 sets of brush tip markers, I was able to create a variety of skin colors so that each girl did not look identical to the next. The best part is that you do...
