Rainy Day in Paris Journal Page

Some watercolor inspiration today.  Rain, umbrellas, and fashion tickets all come together on this 8.5" x 5.5" journal page that celebrates Paris.  I began by using water soluble oil pastels in 3 shades of blue.

The next step in creating our rainy, Paris day, I stamped our Raindrops Background Rubber Stamp nine times on the page in blue ink.

Top left corner of the page features our Retro Umbrella Girl Rubber Stamp.  She is stamped on white cardstock, cut out in the top portion and placed in the negative of a die cut oval, blue cardstock.  Her blue dress and reversed umbrella are cut to come out of the oval opening.  After stamping her in black ink, I colored her in with a navy blue marker.

Underneath the umbrella girl is a cameo and its frame from our Create A Cameo Rubber Stamp Set.  The oval frame and cameo are stamped separately, both were then die cut using Spellbinders, Classic Oval Large Nestabilities dies.

I'm not sure how often it rains in Paris, but I can imagine that the city is just as beautiful as on a sunny day.  Our Vintage Paris Eiffel Tower Rubber Stamp is stamped in black StazOn ink onto a clear acrylic sheet that was painted with thin layers of turquoise and glitter gold acrylic paints.

The four ticket stamps are from the Fashion Tickets Stamp Set.  I decided to leave them black and white along with the strolling girls with umbrellas (Parasol Stroll Rubber Stamp).

And the bottom right corner features our Parasol Stroll Rubber Stamp.  It is cutout and then the background is colored in with light blue markers, leaving the black and white design as is.

Strathmore's Mixed Media book measures 8.5" x 5.5".  The pages are a smooth vellum, perfect for stamping.  I often take my excess stamped designs, various paper scraps and make a journal page.  Having a theme such as Paris on a rainy day couldn't be more fun to put together.  Be sure to enter our watercolor (and/or Spring challenge) with your journal page, or whatever other project you create :-)  I look forward to seeing your projects!

IPhone Cover Decor

Since Xyron has a fabulous way of making anything into a sticker, I decided to create décor for the back of my cell phone case. Taking beautiful, damask patterned glitter paper from DCWV, 6x6 pad, 'The Glitter Basics" I cut out my iPhone 6s cover pattern using a template I created in plain white cardstock of my case. To cut out the circle in the middle, I used an X-Acto knife.     The Scooter Rubber Stamp was embossed on red paper and cut out with scissors.  I smudged 'Claret' color StazOn ink around the edges.       After placing the scooter through the Xyron Creative Station, I placed it onto the iPhone pattern and ran both through together.  The Creative Station can take such thick items.  You will see below that I ran embellishments made from shrink plastic and it had no problem with them. One of the magical features of the Xyron's sticker makers is that the top of your project comes out unscathed.  You just peel the plas
