Time is Flying

In our rubber stamp catalog, we have many designs of clocks and of wings. If you stamp these designs together, you get a wonderful theme: Time flies.... so be sure to do what you love! The common saying is that Time flies when you're having fun.  Well, that is exactly what you'll have when you create ATCs with these rubber stamps.

A standard ATC (artist trading card) measures 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (6,35 cm x 8,89 cm).

Take 3 ATCs and distress the background whatever way you wish, you can't go wrong here, with distressing anything goes! Then add the stamps, here is how.....

Time Flies...Use Your Wings ATC

Start Doing Things You Love ATC

Above ATC features our Pocket Watch Rubber Stamp and one of the wings from Wings Collection Rubber Stamp Set. I colored in the pocket watch with a gold metallic marker and various blue Tombow markers on the wing feathers. The girl is a sticker. I colored the face with a subtle pink hue and added shading in grey under the clock hands.

Hint: when coloring in a watch face, you'll want to have a bit of shading in opposite curves, usually near the 4 o'clock and 11 o'clock areas.

Above, Time Flies...Use your wings ATC: features our Keep the Dream Alive Rubber Stamp (the vintage desk clock portion) and Angel Wings Rubber Stamp. I used some yellow and brown colors and repeated the same colors on the sub dials.

Above, Start Doing Things You Love ATC features:
our classic Hourglass Rubber Stamp and butterfly wings from our Butterflies Rubber Stamp Collection. I stamp with this butterfly stamp often because I love how you can color it in easily and it always looks good. Stamp the butterfly and then cut apart the design to get the wings portion and place it on the side of the hourglass. The Hourglass stamp is easy to color using tans for the sand and blues for the glass.

For each of the backgrounds ATCs, I created a distress look (which is always fun to do!):

coffee spills, random number stamped background, etc. The inspirational phrases are all journaling stickers. If you don't have any of these, try your hand at hand lettering some favorite words. I used foam dots to make the stamps stand out over the base layer. However, you can simply glue all your layers to make them flat and that would look good, too.

New Coloring Booklet Casual Chic

We have a new digital download available: It is the  Casual Chic - Modern Fashion Plates Coloring Booklet   featuring 12 girls dressed in cute outfits along with accessories such as eyewear, hats, purses, and some even have a dog with them.  All of the girls measure over 6 inches in height and print onto 3 pages (landscape). The outfits are fun and unique. You will always be challenged to use various colors while practicing your shading and blending techniques. I had such a blast creating the examples for this project.   Tip: If you have not already, this is a good way to get to know what markers you have. There is a color swatch area to label and try out colors before committing onto a character, which is especially helpful for skin and hair. In my case, I got to know which skin tone markers I had. Between 2 sets of brush tip markers, I was able to create a variety of skin colors so that each girl did not look identical to the next. The best part is that you do...
